What We Collect

In order for you to create a Researcher or Funder/Trial Funder account on OnPAR and use our system, we need to collect and process some information. Depending on your use of the system, that may includ

Researcher Accounts

  • information (such as your name, email and postal addresses, telephone number, and country of residence) that you provide by completing forms on OnPAR, including if you register as a user, upload or submit any material through OnPAR, or request any information;
  • your login and password details, in connection with the account sign-in process;
  • details of any requests or transactions you make within the system;
  • information about your activity on and interaction with OnPAR, such as your IP address and the type of device or browser you use;
  • communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem); and
  • information that you submit to OnPAR in the form of comments or research abstracts.

Funder and Trial Funder Accounts

  • information (such as your organization name, primary point of contact name, email, postal addresses, and telephone number) that you provide by when registering as an OnPAR, Funder/Trial Funder;
  • your login and password details, in connection with the account sign-in process;
  • details of any requests or transactions you make through the Services;
  • information about your activity on and interaction with OnPAR, such as your IP address and the type of device or browser you use;
  • key terms and/or search criteria;
  • organization description and logo;
  • communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem); and
  • information on abstracts claimed.

What’s Private

This data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users:

  • your password details
  • your IP address
  • your phone number
  • communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem)

We don’t give your personal information to any third-party services, except when it’s necessary to provide OnPAR’s functionality (such as our partnership with UberResearch). When we share data with third-party services that support our delivery of the OnPAR functionality, we require that they protect your personal information to the same standards we do.

We do reserve the right to disclose personal information when we believe that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or law enforcement, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect OnPAR’s legal rights.

What’s Shared Only with Funding Organizations & Collaborators

Abstract information is shared with Members (Funding Organizations) and with collaborators. Researcher name, abstract title, abstract description and if claimed and uploaded full research proposal details will be available to Members/Funders and collaborators.

When you submit an abstract, Funders will know your name and have access to review your abstract title and description. Funders never receive a researchers personal information.

If a Funder claims an abstract that you have submitted, you will receive an email enabling you to upload the full research proposal. The Funder will then have access to this information for their review and consideration. Please note a Funder Organization may be located in a different country.

Abstracts are provided to our partner UberResearch. UberResearch to your name and abstract. They use this information to match Members/Funders to abstracts based on Members/Funders search criteria.

What’s Public

Researchers: None of your information is available to the public via OnPAR.

Funders: A description of your organization and your logo will be displayed on the public facing OnPAR site. Visitors to the site will see that you are a participating member of this project.

Uses of Your Personal Information

We will use the personal information you provide to:

  • identify you when you sign in to your account;
  • enable us to provide you with functionality;
  • administer your account with us;
  • enable us to contact you regarding any question you make through the system;
  • analyze the use of the system and the people visiting to improve our content and functionality; and
  • use for other purposes that we may disclose to you when we request your information.

We will not and do not sell your data. Security is important to us and we take protecting your privacy seriously.

Email

When you create your account you are allowing us to email you regarding the OnPAR process. We try to keep emails to a minimum.

We may send you service-related announcements on the rare occasions when it is necessary to do so.

Wrap-up

Researcher: To modify or delete the personal information you have provided to us, please log in and update your profile.

Funder: To modify or change the information you have provided, please contact us to modify the contact information for your organization.

We may retain certain information as required by law or for necessary business purposes.

On request, we will give you a copy of all the personal information about you that we hold.

People under 18 (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) are not permitted to use OnPAR on their own, and so this privacy policy makes no provision for their use of OnPAR.

We will protect all information we receive in accordance with this privacy policy.
